It is making noise exactly after a year, Flap noise. The Builder says they cant fix it. Not sure what needs to be done. Have always kept it clean and now facing this.

This unit was installed in our newly built home. After almost 2 years, the motor died and is now out of warranty. Upon checking the parts page and looking at the reviews. The motor is the issue. It's a design flaw that GE fails to acknowledge. There's a lot of reviews even stating after getting the motor replace. The motor will still fail after 2 - 2.5 years of use. GE is no longer a quality product, will be looking to get this hood replaced by a more reputable brand.

Less than two years old and the fan stopped working. Tried to schedule an appointment and they want 145.00 to just come and look at it. No thanks, will be looking elsewhere for a new hood.

Decent vent hood. Our light bulbs last months before needing to be replaced. Bulb replacement is not too hard, but can be a little tricky. One of the small glass covers over one of the light bulbs has a crack across it.
I'm not sure if GE sells replacement covers for the lights.

We moved into a newly constructed home with brand new cafe appliances. Unfortunately, the fan in this chimney hood makes loud noise only when on Medium and the left light constantly stops working on us. A little disappointing given the appliances were brand new. The builder has had people look at it multiple times, I™™m assuming the guys worked for cafe appliances but the problem persists. We love cafe products and hoping you can help us resolve this. Thanks

Purchased a new home build. The installed brand of appliances are GE profiles. Within those 2 years, have had issues with the refrigerator not making ice, which was replaced by warranty. The microwaves heating element went a few months after the warranty expired which results in a $500+ repair. Now the vent hood fan has stopped working. I don™™t believe GE produces quality appliances with all the costly repairs. The expectation would be they last more than 2 years. Very unsatisfied customer!

Glass looks really pretty but not functional from a cleaning perspective. Installation by new home builder which said GE PRO install all their own appliances was really generic. It was installed REALLY high which reduces suction and easy usage. Also installed glass above side shelves??? Installer should have questioned if it was correct? Now grouted into backsplash. Also quite loud.

I didn™™t originally select this hood vent. I received due to back order of the original selected hood vent when building my house. I didn™™t like it at first™¦.seemed too modern for my taste. However since having I think it™™s beautiful and love the design and lighting. Only bad side after a month a light bulb burnt out. Also the fan makes a noise only when on Lo™"however could have something to do with installation. I have to say™"this is bar far the most quite hood vent I have ever had in a home.

Seems to work OK, though while cooking only some of the steam is pulled through the hood. There seems to be a damper that bangs loudly when the wind blows. Not sure why that is or even why that is happening. Very irritating and annoying.

Hello, We have selected the venthood for our new home and have a question on the placement of duct hole. In the instruction manual it says the model is vertical duct, will there be any performance reduction because the duct hole is on the wall, meaning the duct will take a 90 degree turn while venting out.
There is no need for return air as City threshold is 400CFM. Appreciate your response.

This hood came with a new house we purchased - new construction. Whereas I would prefer a custom made hood, if one is considering a mass produced hood, this is the most attractive I have seen. Good exhaust and easy to clean. Glad we have it in the home.

I am a big fan of Cafe appliances, but not this hood. A few issues with the hood, there are brackets that hold the upper chimney to the wall. Just try to install those brackets to the chimney before you install them to the wall, they do not fit. I found this out after spending an afternoon trying to get the upper chimney installed. Solved by making the holes in the chimney larger, disappointed. We are using the vent on the recirculating mode, the charcoal filter has been on backorder at GE for over two months. It moves air, but does not filter without the back ordered filter. Looks good, moves air, but not what I bought it for. The four other Cafe/ monogram appliances I bought all got 5 stars from me, not this thing

Vent screen keeps falling out of position, for whatever reason it randomly is laying on top of the stove top, I™™ve put it back into its normal position making sure i hear the latch snap into place, check it for being in position. Then when you™™re just relaxing you hear a noise in the kitchen and sure enough the vent screen has fallen out of the vent and onto the stove top!
