Unit is ver pretty. I used a vendor to install my unit which was vented to the outside. The initial installation did not use the provided diverter to force air to the outside vent. On step 8 of the installation instructions it Indicates that the diverter is needed to properly get the exhauset to the rectangular knock out to connect to a rectangular vent. This step needs to be more prominent in the instructions. I noticed several of the Q & A for the unit mentioned air being recirculated rather than sent to a vent to the outside. Perhaps this portion of the instructions could be made clearer? I also appears that the left hand side of the hood has a stronger pull of air than the right hand side. Perhaps the position of the exhause fan motor causes this? Otherwise this unit is a huge improvement over the ancient hood that it replaced!

Very happy with it so far. The light is convenient as a utility light or a "night light." The fan is powerful without being excessively loud. Controls allow flexibility offering multiple fan speeds and brightness settings.

Noisy and Rattles (Brand New/Junk)

Built a new house with this as a standard appliance item. Its loud and makes a rattle sound. Called in a warranty fix the installers cam out and said that's just how these sound. He also said that this is there cheapest trim and just not well designed. He claims to have installed all of them in the neighborhood and that they all sound loud and rattle. Very disappointed in the GE brand. Especially since these retail for $300 +.

Nice hood, but bulb replacement is a nightmare

I purchased this hood from a local retailer in February 2025. It™€™s a very nice looking hood, but has a poor bulb design. In January 2026, one of the two halogen bulbs burned out, so I chose to replace both with LED bulbs. Trying to remove the bulbs was a nightmare. I called my handyman and it took him 30 minutes to remove and install both bulbs, because the overall design is just ridiculous. The bulb that originally burned out has been a constant problem. It randomly shuts off and falls out of the housing when barely touched. Then it™€™s a constant back and forth trying to get it into the proper position where it stays lit. In the 10 days since the new bulb was installed, the light has shut off 3 times and it has fallen out 6 separate times. Beyond frustrating!

I like my oven range. There is a defect in the lights. A week after being installed. I had a light go out. I™€™m not sure if it™€™s a shortage. I youtube to figure out how to get light out because it came with no manual. Once I took light out on right side and put back in, It soo magically start working and then left light went out. I will have to purchase a new set and hopefully both will work at the same time. Otherwise it fit perfect and other functions work good

hood works great but delivery was horrible!

Happy with the hood but installation that I paid for was never done. The delivery person literally stopped, dropped and rolled. I reached out to Wayfair numerous times as well as GE but never got a response. Ended up having to pay again to have someone install it, which I already paid for. Very disappointed in the delivery experience as well as the no return calls from either company

Light replacement nightmare

Replacement of one of the lights has proven to be a nightmare. After 2 years of use, one of the lights went out. Impossible to remove. Had to call for a service technician to do it: $99 for service call and $45 for the replacement light bulb. That's half the cost of the unit itself - and that is to replace ONE light! Who makes a product that requires a service tech to replace a light bulb in your house? Seriously disappointed, as we may just scrap the whole thing and purchase a different hood from a different manufacturer.

Installation Nightmare

This review is purely about the installation process. Even if you get delivery for this item, GE will not install, which means you are subject to the whims of the instructions manual. The product claims to take about 10 minutes to install, which is a criminal understatement and felt more and more like a personal attack as I tried to work my way through the vague diagrams and counter intuitive structuring you must snake through to get around the provided instructions. Youtube offered little help, especially the video GE produced that skip[s about 8 of the ~10 steps involved. If you have installed a range hood before, you may be pretty fine here, but if this is your first time, pray to the good lord for help.

Goes beautifully with my new Cafà induction range. Low/Medium/High fan settings are a great range of airflow and quiet-louder. Halogen lights are a nice color temperature and right where I want them for bright (while cooking) and dim (for ambience). This upgraded my kitchen nicely! Installation was a little tougher than expected (took several hours rather than 10 minutes), but that's more about the oddities of my space than the product.

Love my new hood. Looks sleek and modern in my new kitchen renovation. The lights are bright over my range. The noise on the Low setting is fine. The Med and High are rather noisy for me, but I've only needed to use the low setting. Note that if you're installing ductless, that you need a charcoal filter, which is not included. It may have been just my unit, but it also did not come with the (2) screws needed to install the filter. My contractor happened to have some that fit. So, I'm rating 4 stars since everything else I'm pleased with.

Product is fine, looks good and does a great job, although, as mentioned on the webpage, it is kind of noisy on the highest speed. The "10 minute installation time" is a joke. The diagrams in the installation manual are tiny and hard to read. I still don't know whether I have the charcoal filter assembly installed right side up, or why it doesn't seem to sit flush, or what the extra attachment points are for. I understand that it's easier for the manufacturer to ship out identical boxes containing the parts for all of the exhaust configurations, but I would rather have selected the configuration I needed when ordering and not have all of that wasted aluminum to dispose of. I would have given it five stars otherwise.

Knockout plates were difficult to pull out. Needed to cut the metal connecting them to the hood. Fan seems strong but lights seem to run a but hot questioning longevity. Overall nice sleek design with a bit of instalation problems.
