Not correct trim kit

The product is easily to install and looks nice in finished state. There are a couple spots where there could be a little more clarity (e.g., do you install the microwave brackets on top of template paper or do you remove the paper). However, beyond that it is fairly simple. The trim was a little tight on the microwave, which makes the door a "little" tight to open. Not sure if it is a defect in the workmanship of the trim (i.e., the top left corner of the microwave door rubs the trim when the door is opened about halfway). Also, this is just way overpriced - a small piece of plastic trim, with stainless cover and some brackets. This should not cost the company anywhere near $245 which is the price charged the customer for the trim).

Very expensive for what you get. First GE sent me the wrong item, (black vs the stainless steel that was ordered). Then they failed to re-order it as they told me. Then it was out of stock. Now I wait a month with a hole in my cabinet. Crazy expensive for a chinsey piece of plastic trim. Quality is poor.

I've had the microwave & SS trim kit for a little over two years. The upper right corner of the trim kit no longer adheres to the frame underneath so it sticks out in the corner. We don't touch the trim piece, just the mircrowave so there's no reason for it to have broken. The trim kit cost nearly as much as the mircrowave. Very disappointing that it is such poor quality. A GE technician was at my home repairing my refrigerator...I asked him about the microwave trim kit and he said it should be replaced because it must have been defective to begin with. Of course it's after the warranty expired. Poor qualilty control on the part of GE.

Waited 5 months while on back order after purchasing the microwave! Overall kit looks good installed matching the GE oven finish. Goes together well following the instructions. One issue I had was top bracket attachment point were off center. I measured everything 3 times so it wasn't me. Had to pull microwave back out and move top bracket over 3/8 to get screw holes to align. Not difficult...but a pain!

It's probably a nice trim kit. But the fact that it takes months to get is not cool. I mean it's the trim kit, not the actual microwave. Why would that take so long?

this frame finishes the microwave in our kitchen. we put it in a cabinet under the counter. there are a lot of parts and screws for the mounting of the frame and microwave. the only down sides i have found is; 1. price (almost as much as the microwave) and 2. when the door latching mechanism breaks on the microwave (as mine did) and you can't open the door, you also can't remove the frame with out severely damaging it.
